Establishment : In 1847 Gustav Meguin started his company. He manufactured hoof grease,linseed oil and wagon lubricants
 Product range : In 1890the product range was extended to include lubricants for the steel industry, mineral oil and technical grease required by early motorisation.
 Light gas : On 1 July 1898 the first gas lanterns started operation in Fraulautern. Gustav Meguin provided the municipal gas supply with the ‘waste product’ light gas that was generated in his production plant
 Rebuilding : In 1948 production restarted on a larger scale. Mineral oil and lubricants from Meguin were urgently required for rebuilding industry in Saarland.
 Expansion : 6 July 1959 was day X for Saarland – Meguin once again gained access to the entire market in the Federal Republic of Germany and other European countries.
 New era: In 2006, MÉGUIN became a 100 percent subsidiary of LIQUI MOLY GmbH in Ulm under the management of CEO Ernst Prost.
Export: The marketing of MÉGUIN products around the world is determined by the sales strategy newly initiated by Ernst Prost with the motto ‘the world is our market’.
Cornerstone laying ceremony: ‘One small step for us, one giant leap for our mineral oil works and for the people in the company,’ says Ernst Prost on the occasion of the cornerstone laying ceremony of the fuel depot on 24 August 2011 which is has been built in the triangle between Saar and Hafenbecken. A total of ten storage tanks of the same capacity offer space for 18,000 cubic metres. This amount is equal to 18 million litres. MÉGUIN has invested around 8 million euros into the new fuel depot. 30 new jobs have been created.

In future, the raw materials will no longer travel to MÉGUIN on the road, but via waterways. For Ernst Prost, the fuel depot is a supporting pillar for the further growth of the company.
Today : Meguin acts a system supplier and joint venture partner on the major markets worldwide. As a production and logistics company Meguin supplied a whole range of well-known companies in the mineral oil sector, the mineral oil trade and industry.
